报告摘要:
Extreme mass-ratio inspirals offer a powerful probe of massive black holes and their environments, but interpreting these signals requires consistent modeling of orbital dynamics and radiation. I will present a fully relativistic framework, based on the modified Teukolsky formalism, that couples matter and gravitational perturbations around rotating black holes. It incorporates perturbative environmental corrections without weak-field or slow-rotation expansions. As an application, I will discuss circular equatorial inspirals within an ultralight scalar cloud. In a representative system, a cloud containing 10−4 of the black hole’s mass produces about eleven radians of orbital dephasing over two years. The contributions from gravitational radiation and conservative dynamics exceed the scalar contribution but partially cancel, highlighting the importance of coupled matter–gravity modeling. I will conclude with implications for interpreting space-based gravitational-wave observations and prospects for extending the framework to other environments and modified theories of gravity.
