报告摘要:
Gravitational collapse is supposed to end in forming a black hole and ultimately leading to a singularity which is hidden behind the event horizon. We will argue that this need not always be the case, it could really end in a Buchdahl star having a timelike boundary like any other ordinary star yet a comparable compactness of M/R = 4/9 as against M/R = 1/2 for black hole.
报告人简介:
Naresh Dadhich is an accomplished gravitational theorist with research career spanning over six decades. He was the initiator of Magnetic Penrose Process for the most efficient mining of energy from a rotating black hole, and Buchdahl star is his latest interest. He has been involved with Professor Jayant Narlikar in creating IUCAA, a leading astronomy institute, and succeeded him as its Director. He is Emeritus Professor since his retirement in 2009.
