
报告题目:Null infinity as SU(2) Chern-Simons theories and its quantization

报告摘要:
Asymptotically flat spacetime serves as a valuable framework for testing theories of gravity, in both classical and quantum regimes. Recent study by Ashtekar and Speziale have demonstrated that the null infinity of an asymptotically flat spacetime can be formulated as a weakly isolated horizon (WIH) under an appropriate choice of conformal gauge. In this talk, I will firstly give a brief review the work by Ashtekar and Speziale. Then, inspired by the pioneer investigations of (weakly) isolated horizon, I will demonstrate how to model the null infinity as two SU(2) Chern-Simons theories, which may offer new insights into the exploration of quantum gravity. Finally, I will quantize the null infinity basing on the quantized Chern-Simons Theory.
报告人简介:
Hongwei Tan has been a permanent faculty at the Hunan Institute of Technology since 2024. He earned his doctorate from Florida Atlantic University in the United Stated in 2024, specializing in the reduced phase space approach in the context of asymptotically flat spacetime. He got his bachelor’s degree in physics from Guangzhou University in 2015 and his master’s degree of astronomy from the same university in 2018.
