报告摘要

Quantum gravity is a direction of research where we are trying to reconcile general relativity explaining large scale phenomena with laws of quantum mechanics. Currently there are many approaches to QG. Perturbative quantum gravity is one such approach and is also the oldest among all the approaches that are practiced today. In this approach one uses the known and tested methods of Quantum Field Theory (QFT) to study theories of gravity. This framework allows us to probe the ultra high energy issues of gravity using the methodology of renormalization group, and explore the infrared physics in the context of cosmology. This talk is based on some of my ongoing work in the direction of perturbative quantum gravity, non-localities and infrared physics.

报告人简历:Narain博士,现就职于北航空间与环境学院任“卓越百人”博士后。印度理工大学硕士,意大利SISSA博士,曾先后在印度数学科学研究所、Naresuan大学基础科学研究所、中科院卡夫里理论物理研究所任博士后研究员。
