报告题目On unity and splittings of scattering amplitudes

报告摘要

Based on recent progress on new geometries underlying scattering amplitudes, I will report on a new discovery that the stringy completion of amplitudes in tr φ3 (the simplest theory of colored scalars) secretly contain the scattering amplitudes for pions and gluons in arbitrary dimensions, to all loop orders. At tree level, this unified object has led to another surprise that all these amplitudes have a hidden pattern of zeros as well as new factorizations near such zeros. I will trace their origin to a new, universal ``splitting'' behavior of scattering amplitudes into product of two currents (each with an off-shell leg), which also applies to theories without color such as gravity and colorless scalars.

报告人简介

2009年在北京大学物理学院获博士学位,随后在德国马普引力物理所、普林斯顿高等研究院和圆周理论物理研究所从事博士后研究,2015年至今在中科院理论物理研究所工作。长期活跃在量子场论、弦论和量子引力等高能理论前沿领域,近年来主要研究散射振幅及其对粒子物理、引力和数学等方面的应用。近年代表性工作包括提出量子场论散射振幅的 Cachazo-何-袁形式,开创性地发现场论和弦论散射的几何起源,并在场论高圈计算和严格求解,规范场、引力和弦论的对偶等方向做出了一系列工作。
