By introducing the ruler field, AdS gravity is reformulated as a SO(2,d) gauge theory. In this formalism, the bulk Einstein equation can be naturally identified with the vanishing of boundary SO(2,d) covariant anomaly. Parallel with the results for chiral gauge anomaly, one can establish the descendent structure of this holographic SO(2,d) anomaly. The corresponding d+2 form anomaly characteristic can be viewed as a generalization of Euler class. To reproduce the holographic SO(2,d) anomaly in a pure CFT computation, the general SO(2,d) Dirac operators are constructed in the unfolding formalism of conformal primaries. We also conjecture that holographic SO(2,d) anomaly is the topological obstruction for the quantum extension of classical SO(2,d) gauge symmetry.

王兆龙,西北大学现代物理研究所副教授。2010年于中国科学技术大学获得博士学位,随后在韩国高等研究院(KIAS)做博士后研究,2014年加入西北大学。近年来主要集中于全息对偶方面的研究, 致力于对AdS/CFT对偶给出第一原理意义上的理解和构造。
