报告题目:Introducing F-theory model building

报告摘要:

F-theory, as strongly coupled IIB theory with 7-branes and varying dilaton, provides a clear and easy-to-use dictionary between geometry and physics when compactifying string theory down to lower dimensions. In this talk we will introduce the basics of F-theory with an emphasis on the geometry of elliptic fibrations and the dictionary between geometry and physics. We will then  discuss the connection between the G4-flux and chirality in 4D F-theory compactification. We will conclude with the results in the paper 1903.00009 where we constructed O(10^15) Standard Models via F-theory compactification.

报告人简介:田家骅,2013年本科毕业于南京大学,2020年在美国东北大学获理论物理博士学位,即将前往意大利ICTP做博士后。
